FKMCD-Oxitec Mosquito Project Update: Preparing for Hurricane Elsa
FKMCD and Oxitec today announced that project operations will be temporarily paused as Hurricane Elsa passes through the region. All project equipment, including mosquito release boxes and surveillance traps, will be returned temporarily to the FKMCD facility in the next 48 hours. Pausing operations will prevent damage to monitoring and surveillance equipment and mosquito release devices. Operations will resume shortly after the storm passes. As always, we will continue to prioritize the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues, their families, and the communities we serve. FKMCD and Oxitec will provide additional information if required and we invite members of the public to check our website and social media accounts often for the latest updates.
